Hello All

Post by msc4570 »

I'm new to the board and happy to have found a place with fellow rabbit hunters and beaglers. Attached a couple pics of me and my two older dogs. Added a pup last year, but the weather here in Michigan pretty much halted rabbit hunting. My Dad added another pup this summer, so we'll be putting four dogs out there after the bunnies this season which is the most we have ever run at one time. Can't wait for December!

Welcome. This is my favorite forum. Where are you in Michigan? I'm north of Allegan. Come run.

Nice looking hounds.
Is your hunt vest a bird hunting type? You dress as I do, I don't care for wearing a heavy coat and usually layer and carry a poncho if caught in the rain. I need a new vest, what brand is yours?

That vest is a Filson Pro Guide vest. It wasn't cheap when I bought it which was about 5 years ago, and I think now they're about $200. I've tried Dan's and Mule vests, but they didn't breathe very well and go a little tight if you need to put on an extra layer underneath. That Filson vest has been what I've found works best for me cause it goes over whatever clothes I need to wear, carries plenty of gear and dog transmitter, and has room for plenty of rabbits on the days we get lucky. Some of the best money I've invested.
