SNOW.I prefer a wet snow rather than a dry one.Seems they do better tracking.

I wasn't nuts about hunting on snow until recently. I have been hunting my Northway male, 6 yr. old on snow in eastern Ky, and he is better with a wet snow than without any. I have had hounds in the past that didn't seem to be able to run on snow, or search and find a rabbit.

No Hare here and the cottentails run to a hole if the snow is too deep.In fact if its over 10 inches they don't come out of their holes or flush from under their brush piles. We had a little melt off here last week and I went out yesterday knowing it was borderline whether they would run or not.8 inches of snow,10 rabbits up(they were sitting TIGHT!)and only 3 legitimate circles.Oh yeah, I was 3 for 3 with my single shot.
