WV HUNTERS TAKE ACTION..... YOUR RIGHTS ARE BEING STOLEN

Post by xdawg »

Just got off the phone with WV DNR Law Enforcement

304-558-2784 Out Of Charleston WV (CALL FOR YOURSELF)

If your county didn't vote in and accept the "SUNDAY HUNTING" you are legally not allowed to train your dogs on sundays. Basically you will be ticketed for hunting game with dogs on sundays.

I asked is this not trianing vs hunting? He said pursuing rabbits with a gun or a bow is hunting.

So then i asked, how then can i run my dogs in June without getting ticketed, since june doesn't fall within hunting season? He then went on to explain its then training.

So then i asked what the difference between the 2 is and he couldn't answer me.

Your rights are being stolen.... STOP THEM... COMPLAIN.... CALL TODAY....!!!!!!

I go to church most sunday mornings and evenings.... i respect the lord and love the fact Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins. my life will forever be a living sacrifice for that.

So, how can DNR tell me if i own my house/land and i'm running my dogs (that in some areas i pay taxes on land/dogs) that i can't even run them on my own land between church on sundays.

I'M TELLING YOU ALL NOW, THIS IS REAL.... AND ITS WRONG!!!!!!

304-558-2784 Call today and find out for yourself...

How can a man fish on sundays and slay all the fish he wants to but not run his dogs...?

Dear WV DNR,

I’ve spoken to DNR of Charleston, WV and they told me this is who I need to speak to about the laws of WV DNR.

About Me:

I live in Cabell Co. WV and I’m an avid sportsman who finds comfort in running beagles on rabbits. I very seldom even kill rabbits. That being said, I’ve always bought my license to be able to run dogs in WV.

As you know Cabell Co. didn’t pass the act to allow “SUNDAY HUNTING” no problem, I believe in Jesus Christ and I know he died on the cross to pay for my sins. I believe Sundays are the day of rest and there shouldn’t be a bunch of gun shooting and such.

Situation:

Hunting Season for Rabbits: NOV 1st until the last day of FEB (YOU ARE ALLOW TO TRAIN AND HUNT TO KILL RABBITS)

NON Hunting Season for Rabbits: First day of MARCH until the last day of OCT (YOU ARE ALLOWED TO TRAIN ONLY AS LONG AS YOU BUY YOUR LICENSE)

My Concerns

After talking to DNR about the training of dogs on Sundays I was informed that when the no hunting on Sundays was sent through they added “pursing game with dogs” to the definition of hunting. Which allowed the training of dogs to be classified as hunting which keeps owners of hunting dogs from running their dogs on Sundays.

My Questions:

Now that hunting includes “pursing game with dogs” what stops special interest groups from coming in and stating the fact that if I run my dogs in JUNE “which is not during the hunting season” its illegal. You have opened the door to allow someone to steal the rights of thousand and thousand of license carrying, tax paying, and God fearing West Virginians.

As the active body for defining WV DNR Laws you really need to look at what you’ve done here.

What is the difference between a person running dogs and someone fishing, a couple walking there house dog who chases deer in a park, or even a group of people riding bikes or horses through the woods disturbing nature?

well sounds like you are okay for awhile...

anyways, the rest of us could use any help you may be able to provide....

also remember this..... state wide they have redefined hunting to include "pursing with dogs" which is how they are enforcing no running in countys that passed the no hunting on sundays....

so basically there is no such word as training.... If you use dogs to chase game you are hunting....

the next logical step is for some special interest group to step in and say "hey you have to enforce the law" they are running their dogs on game in june.

And basically law says that pursing game with dogs is hunting so there for it wouldn't be too far fetched to think of some judge saying... yeah you're right open rabbit season ended in FEB so if he is running in June he is clearing breaking the law.....

SPEAK OUT FELLAS.... ITS REAL

I called the main office in Charleston about this matter 5 months ago.Pretty much they didn't care what I had to say about the subject. They just made sure that they made the law clear to me before I hung up.Your right, it isn't fair.I don't think it's right that we have to have a hunting license to run or train dogs in the off season.I think thats stupid!! Me & the game warden used to be pretty good friends here in my county until this came up.If my wife wants to go with me just to sit on the tailgate & listen to my hounds,we have to go buy her license. We don't get to spend much time together because of work & my beagling habit so she goes with me because she understands what this means to me & how important it is to keep my hounds in tune. The guy I talked to on the phone told me she has to have her license because it would be hard to prove that she isn't handling the dogs.So I asked him if she needed a license just to go & watch me kill a deer.He said no.Wouldn't it be just as hard to prove that she didn't pull the trigger on that deer? There isn't no harm in runnin on sunday, hunting season or not.I think they make a lot of this stuff up as they go along, sure would hate to play poker with these guys.My wife has a great dane & every time she lets him out in the yard he chases the birds away. They would probably consider that pursing game. What would it take to have this law changed?I sent a very long e-mail about this matter to the W.V. license proposal but unless we can get a buuunnnccchhh of people to complain about it I honestly don't think it's going to matter, even if it will matter then.Sorry to have such a down opinion about it but I'm tired of paying these peoples wages by buying my hunting license & have them tell me what I can & can't do.If anybody has an idea of how to change these laws let us know.We can go to all the meetings we want & complain until we are blue in the face but I honestly don't think it's going to do any good.
