Art, I had the same thing happen to 2 DC40's. Call Garmin and get a number to send it back. Do it during April. They replaced mine with new DC50's because the warranty has been extended through April. Mine was past a year also. Hope it worked for you. Bobby

I had a collar that was 2 years old that the same thing happened. Tried unplugging the battery and tried a new battery from Garmin and that did not work. Basically they gave me a RMA number for the DC40 collar and they sent me a new DC50 for 99 dollars. Sounds like they do not repair or make the DC40's anymore, beacause that was not an option. I have not tried the DC50 yet but it looks like a better collar.

If they give you an option to upgrade you will like the DC 50 much better.

I just talked to them first of the week. They gave me 2 options.. I could send my DC40 in to them they would send me DC40 for $120.00 or a DC50 for $ 99.00, They said since I had a 320 and could use the 50 they would make me that deal. That way they could keep the guys with 220's going longer since 220 won't work with 50..I am getting the DC 50.Hope it wasn't a mistake.. Will let you know how I get along with 50. Don't know what I have to do to get it to work with my other 40's.The guy from garmin said it would work.He also thought 50 was improvement over 40.May have to get Shaun to show me how to do it..Ron

You will have to update your receiver to get the DC 50 to hook up. Go to Garmins website for the update.
