help, rectal prolapse!

Post by pabstman »

Have a female that her rectum prolapsed about 5-6 weeks ago. Took her to vet they surgical repaired it. Gonna take her in tomorrow asap. Any suggestions on what could be causing this??? If it could be food, what would be a good food to help her stool be loose? Thx in advance guys.

soap will do it too if they can get to it . bland food is best when they have it, been through it with a couple pups years ago.

Had a young male several years ago that had it. It looked like he was eating straw from his house from looking at his turds. After the stitching the young vet have me a bottle of mineral oil to help keep him lubed up. I put it on his food and gave him a little a couple of times a day straight. He was fine after that and had a normal hunting dog life.
Where's the earth shattering kaboom ?
