yep pretty much the same without the moneyBB Beagles wrote:Just a question, the UKC H&H sounds like it's ran a lot like a PKC hunt. Are they close to same?
In our area we mainly have LP hunts and PKC. If you wanna run diff format usually have to travel a bit.

Re: Formats - most conservative to less conservative?
One difference in pkc and ukc hound and hunter is no checks in pkc and in ukc checks are scored all dogs lose 20 after a minute loss and first dog to get track moving again before 3 mins is rewarded there 20 back. After 3 mins track is dead

PBGA and AHRA PP.....both of these formats have pretty wide variances but for the most part run a strong medium speed dog with control. PBGA runs a closer dog than PP from my limited exposureWhat format promotes a dog right between Mid-West and UGBF?

I belong to a club of each style and they are NIGHT and DAY apart. I run midwest style and have a couple buddies run ubgf. I always give them heck that my rabbit is on its 3rd circle and they are STILL on their first 1/2 circle. I'll feed what i like and they do the same. we rib one another about their slow dogs and my fast ones.

SGC,
All the PBGA clubs are in PA. Monroe is PBGA. I think Toledo is different club. That would be UBGF

Thanks for all the info. We( me and my 12yr old)went to our first trial a few weeks ago and it was an Midwest and we loved it the dogs we watched were our speed and style we run anyway. We are going to run a pup in a derby in a couple weeks.

Some of you are painting this picture with an awfully wide brush. I know several people who run 4 formats with the same dog(s) LP, UKC PP,NHBA and Midwest. And they are successful at each
