I have a Comanche and it's the only gun I rabbit hunt with. Love it. Have killed plenty of rabbits with it. Don't get me wrong I have missed some too lol

Thanks to all for the comments. I still haven't bought a Rossi but I am thinking about it even more. Thought I had a gun shop checking on one but they never got back with me. Guess I will check somewhere else. I definitely want to go back to carrying a pistol to rabbit hunt though!

I had a Comanche and sold it. I just didn't like it--too loud, cheaply made, impossible to hit anything, and kicked like a mule. It was a lot easier to carry though, especially when you usually only shoot a couple times a day.

I have been looking around trying to find a Rossi but haven't found one that I can look at. I hate to order one without actually seeing one first. I would appreciate any and all opinions.
jim i have the matched but mine came with a 20 ga. n 243 cal. n 22 i put a leoupold scope on the 243 we have shot several deer with it my grandson did some squirrel hunting with 20 ga. if i ever decide to go kill one or 2 rabbits thats the gun i wil use i think the matched is pretty good for the money the 243 killed those deer just as dead as those guys using 7 mms or 30/06 the 20 ga is small n light easy to get through brush mine is the black syntheic i like mine real well by the way how is your jake pups doing i got a littermate sister to yours

Picked a Rossi matched pair pistol up at cabelas. $299 regular price and all guns are 10% off right now too. I love it. First thing I did was test fire 7 1/2 shot, 5 shot, & 4 shot all 3". Fired at 25 yds using Xmas wrapping paper! I Was impressed by the patterns. My buddy has a TC encore. 15" vent rib. We r going to make some side by side pattern comparisons. It is plenty good to hunt with.

For price it is great! Shoulder holster was $29 also at cabelas.

I agree with previous post on the sights. I Need a ventilated rib barrel. I think it should be doable with a little Mill work and using the 4 holes for the factory sights.

I have the same tc encore with 15 inch barrel please let us know how your test goes . I shoot 3inch number 4shot kills pretty good bot does not put a lot of pellets in the hare.and the dogs catch the ones that only get a couple pellets.

Wow. That is a good deal.

I fired mine at 15 yards with 3" 6 Remington express loads. The entire pattern was less than 24" and about 90% was in an 18" circle. I was very impressed with the performance.

I took it hunting on Thursday and even drew it on some jumped bunnies, but the darn things didn't know they were supposed to run in a circle and not down a hole, so no shots were fired.

Took mine today and had two at 10 feet. Several rabbits went straight to holes. I pulled the trigger 3 times on one but forgot to turn safety off. The safety will take some getting used too! Can't reach it with shooting hand while aiming pistol. Using two hands is a must to deactivate safety but cumbersome. I do not like the safety. Anyone else rather see a different safety?

Hate the safety. It has a transfer bar, so I use the hammer as a safety.

3 inches of snow and 38 degrees that is a perfect day for running. Rossi performed great. The sights are not to bad after you get used to them. Very fun gun.

Thanks
Dan

dsr7934,that front pin seems kind of high to the barrel ,most shotgun sights are right on top of barrel ,do you have to adjust your aim?

The sights are a little different. It is rifle sights using fiberoptics. It takes a little shooting to be able to pull it up and be centered as they are higher than usual. Normally I shoot a H&R single 410. It makes me choose my shots a little more carefully. I enjoy the added challenge. A few more have got past me lately.
