Well got to run 3 of my hounds in the snow for the first time and i will have to say it has been the most fun i've had this year.
I was really impressed with the way the hounds worked, it was 1 bunny after the other. i even had 1 of my litter pups i crossed back in the summer finally open up real good at 5 months old, and with the winds and the snow along with the cold weather i was quit impressed with her and she keep up with the older hounds to.
I know it sounds kinda silly but we don't get alot of snow here and when we do it ain't much so we don't get alot of chances to see how my hounds will work in these conditions. But i was very satisfied today.
Ain't had this much fun sense the hogs eat my little sister.LOL
I couldn't even shoot the bunnies for just listening to sound of the hounds and i even let them circle 2 by me twice just to hear the race go on.
Just thought i would share that with you all.

Tom 1 of the hounds was Katie and the others was Nitro and Sally. I don't believe Nitro and i know Sally wasn't there, she is out of my cross from the summer. Her and her ltter mate brother i crossed out of my hounds Ky Beagles Major Mcgee and Goodtimes Babydoll which is turning out to be one heck of a cross from what i've noticed, cause they catch on quick.
Maybe we can get together this weekend and get ol Bopeye out for another hunt. Just let me know.
Donnie
P.S. I heard you finally broke down and got back into it again. Bopeye told me you bought you a hound, and it sounds like you started out right.
See ya

PLAT, that white stuff must have missed us by a HARE. No pun intended but couldnt resist. We just had a light dusting (if you can even call it that) that was gone shortly after it hit. Glad you had a good day hunting though. My 6 year old really wanted to go until he was outside for about 2 minutes. Never got out of the teens till afternoon and the wind was too much for my young'un to take. Hopefully this weekend will be a little better so I can take him for a run. Later

hardtime01 i believe i would sell the hounds before i would sell them hogs.LOL There keepers.
bluejack it was pretty bitter cold here. by the time i got over the excitement i realized i couldn't fill the tips of my fingers for about 10 minutes after the hunt, but it was worth every minute.
my youngest boy who is 11 yrs old he is hoping to get snow this weekend so we can go watch his hound that opened up all the way the other day for the first time. it don't look like snow but it looks like the cold weather will be here and he will just throw on his insulated Carharts and the trusty 20 ga and he will be ready to go. like he say's the colder daddy the better the dogs run. ha
ya gotta love there excitment.
