Dog eating rabbits

Post by kevinpennington »

I have a dog that has caught 3 in 4 days and ate everyone. My question is he's really bloated after a couple days since he ate the last one. He is having bowel movements . Is there anything that can be done to speed the process up to ease the bloating

Shouldn't hurt him so I would leave him alone.

How did he catch them? Grown or little ones?

Is he catching all the rabbits? Anyway just a word of caution, Usually when my dogs get to a rabbit during the hunting season after I've shot and eat some of eat they get filled with worms in no time. Make sure you worm him......DH

I'd watch him close, generally a dog catching rabbits that often is either going silent or cheating using the other dogs. Not saying this is the case but if it is that's a huge fault that is best nipped in the bud right away.

is he running them down, as in he is just that fast he an catch one.
or he runs them stiff and just scoops'em up?

and that is a fact he will have worms.

I can assure you he is not running silent, chop mouth, you will find your self trying to take a breath for him  He runs as much line as any big male I have ever seen run, not cheating. He catches them running solo as well as in a pack. Give him some rest and let him digest them Kevin. Dam* blocky headed s.o.b.
