Rabbit population?

Post by Bakersbeagles »

I am going on a family trip to southeast Texas(Beaumont area)in mid May and I have gotten permission to rabbit hunt 16,000 acres! I was wondering if anyone knows anything about this area is there very many rabbits down there and what kind of rabbits are in that area and how bad are snakes? Just any info to help me on my trip would b great! Thanks!

I would be VERY concerned about snakes. Might be wise to have your dogs "snake broke." I would also be concerned about heat stroke. I wouldn't submit my dogs to those dangers.

I ran down that way in houston last year. It was in july. We ran from 6-10 in the morning. We ran swampers and cottontails. I no there snakes but didn't seen any.
