Mountain State Beagle Club members Chris Hughart, Roger Osborne and David Coles had a great day rabbit hunting. We didn't realize how good of a spot we had until the dogs ended up jumping 17 rabbits and Roger jumped 1. The dogs did great in the snow. There were some 20 minute chases and some of the rabbits just went straight to their holes. We only killed 4 rabbits. We could have killed several more but we like to keep some alive for later.
One of Rogers 9mo old pups, Harmony, jumped two rabbits and can even run the front. She's going to be a dog to look for in the upcoming trials.
We had a great time and we our very thankful we had the chance to see so many rabbits. We can not wait to do again.
