DC30 dayglo replacement??

Post by Lone Pine Beagles »

What do you all consider the best DC30 dayglo replacement collars?

I'd need one to go quite small.

thanks,
LPB

Talk to Andy Purnell at Lion Country. Goes by fastrackpa on here. He hooked me up with some day-glo replacement collars with the reflective band in the middle of them. They are a lot better than the stock orange straps in my opinion.

I didn't know you could get replacement day-glows for the DC 30. I thought the antenna thread had to be redone. I am often wrong on many things.

Oh sorry, you may be right. I was thinking DC40 b/c that is what I have. Anyway, here is what I got: http://www.lcsupply.com/Astro-Reflectiv ... ASTRSTRAP/

Smoke'N: One thing I have done with the DC 30 is to carefully cut off the guts part of the collar and rivet it to a day-glow. Cut off the buckle and just beyond the antenna and leave enough room for a couple rivets on each end. Tape the center part just beyond the transmitter as a tightener and emergency hold. Works great, cheap and can be done on a 3/4 inch collar also.

Andy,

If you can't find anything you like and need them done, take a look at mine. Maybe I will post a picture for you later this evening. The way I built mine there is no way that little wire will be exposed. Its a bit of work and maybe a little over built but will last. Let me know.

Here is how I did mine....

Image

This is the inside of the collar. I doubled the collar under the aluminum saddle piece.

Image

This is the outside of the collar where the wires runs up it. I sandwiched the wire between two pieces of collar material and rivited them together. The wire is coiled a bit so its not straightened out to full length. Also shows the antenna I made.

Here is how small the collar will get down to.
