Just wanted to share this with you all.My nephew just got his hunting permit this year and last weekend he killed a 4 point buck during the youth season here with a shotgun on the way home from that hunt I told him now the fun begins and we can start chasing rabbits.Today was our first hunt and it was perfect even had snow flurries this morning.Anyhow the dogs ran great and put 3 good shots in front of him BUT he missed the only 1 he shot at ,altogether they ran about 8 rabbits and the guy whos land we hunted also hunted with us and this was his first rabbit hunt too but he wasnt any better a shot then the boy and we left with no rabbits .As we were leaving my 10 year old nephew said "this rabbit hunting is alot harder then hunting deer" and he wanted to go again ASAP.The land owner also said he had a great time and told us to come back this weekend and he will practice shooting tomorrow,I just laughed and told them both I will bring my gun next time and we will have rabbits to eat .After last weekend watching him shoot his first deer and the rabbit hunt today it just makes you realize how lucky we are as sportsmen and women to be able to pass this on to our youngsters.
Good Hunting
