I was feeding Blackgold but the price went up just over $30.00 bag (50lb.) So i thought i would switch to Pride PRO Series Chicken & Rice $26.00 (50lb.) I have a male that i can never put weight on(Get fat), but always looks like a dog should and holds up like they should. After 2 Weeks of Pride his hair is course, greasy and he looks like crap!! I thought because he was eating twice as much food he really liked it and was going to start putting on weight for winter. Going back to Blackgold!!

I have fed the Southern States Advanced Sport 24/20 for awhile now. I am very pleased with it's cost, (19.99 a bag, ten or more bags you get a $1 off per bag around here.) I just recently bought my son a Lab puppy from Owens Station here in Greenwood, Mr. Wolters owns the kennel and he is feeding a dog food from right here in Delaware. It is called Beaver Dam. Been getting nice reviews by several big trainers and dog men around this way. In my case it is not economical to feed all the hounds the Beaver Dam, it is $42 a 40lb. bag 26/18. I am keeping the lab on it and I switched my 2 big males over to it. I will see if I notice any dramatic results. But for the rest of the bunch, it's Southern States all the way!!

Used to feed Buddy Boy for about 5 years with decent results. Was affordable and seemed to keep dogs looking good. But then , something changed. The last batch I bought had 6 or so bags that didn't do so good. Dogs looked bad , stool was nasty , couple dogs even got skin problems. Found out that the corn in it was bad and the supplier had sent a couple ton back , but failed to contact me.

I switched to Diamond Naturals over a year ago and love it. No corn for me if I can help it. This is great food with good ingredients and only $24 / 40 lb. from a local feed store. This is the pallet price , so I share with some other guys.

Purina Pro Plan shredded chicken, lamb or beef I switch it up every so often. I have great coats and like said previously in my opinion there is a major difference between this and some of the cheaper brands. I do like black gold but can't get it locally anymore.

We have fed The Pride for many years and used to feed the green bag. I switched to the black bag 24/20 and although it appears that there is a little more stool the dogs stay in decent shape for the price difference. I have been buying feed by the ton for many years now and have fed many different brands over the years and i will say it has been my ewxperiance that every feed has kept my dogs decently with the only difference I notice is the stool. Now, I don't trial, but merely gun hunt so my dogs aren't ran everyday like alot are so my experiances may differ. the only brand that I could notice a drastic affect upon the dogs appearance was when I was feeding DIAMOND and my dogs will never have another morsel of it in their mouths, period.

If there is a better food Than Purina Pro Plan Chicken and Rice, somebody is gonna have to show me.Overall i have tried them all and currently feed my lab pup purina . She is a beast slick, slick coat great muscle tone and tootsie roll turds .I know there maybe better foods but dang i sure like Pro plan. I have always been told to watch your stool it tells the tale of the food, the darker the turd with a firm base better the food.

Pro Plan and you may as well sign up for the purina pro club once you start feeding it.......if you're looking for the best you're gonna pay for it and it's worth every cent in my opinion...only 2 dog foods in my kennel pro plan performance and purina puppy chow...I've tried everything at one point or another and the only piece of mind i've ever had came once i started feeding purina pro plan performance dogs look great stay healhty and i have dogs that act like grenades on legs if they don't get ran the energy level is ridiculous....i can go on and on, but it's the only thing I'll recommend however as i said on another thread black gold and red flannel are you're best bets under $30.00 a bag...

I used to feed Black Gold black bag but they stopped selling it around here so I have tried Pride 24/20 black bag and Southern States Advance 24/20 and both seem to do my dogs good but if I could still get Black Gold that is what I would be feeding.
