RIP 2x NLPC Maravic's Blue Barry

Post by sbeagler »

I saw Bill McClaren he said today would been his birthday but died last month. What a great hound he was and his offspring. Bill was his loyal master up to the end.I am glad such a great hound had an owner who appreciated what he had done giving him a loving home and good care til his last breath.

He definitely made his mark in the beagling world with his ability and reproducing power. Great hound and sorry to hear he's gone.

I have a male pup about 11months old that is grandson on top side (sire-Side Hill Keuka Blue) and double ninja on the bottom ( dam-Maravic's ADK Blue Placid Penny). I really like him a lot for a young dog. Probably , one of the nicest male pups I've fooled with. Looking forward to putting some age on him and trying that nose on snow.

Blue Barry was what? 16-17 years old?I saw a picture of him several years ago and he was turning almost white.Talk about longevity in a beagle! Especially for one that had all the miles on him that he had.I'm sure Bill was proud to own him.

He would have been 17. He was in great shape till last winter and went downhill pretty fast from there. Almost 17 is a pretty good run for a great dog.
