Re: Top Sire
I don't run AKC trials much and dont trial every weekend. I run a little of each format but mostly UKC. I had a litter of puppies out of Reggie a few years ago and Our dog Hurryup Lady..MY female I kept has placed in a couple AKC trials, I took her to the AKC National runoff as a 13 derby dog, she won first, I took her to a couple trials the next year and then back to the National runoff again, she won first again you probley havent heard of her, Hurry up Bound for Glory. Also that day in the 15 inch females her half sister won first, you might have heard of her Cookie? well maybe haven't heard of her either since you don't trial.....Mine dog isn't a AKC FC simply because I havent taken her..
Her brother just won the GrHbCh National winner. The litter mates have all won major large hunts in every format.. ARHA,AKC,Pkc and UKC..You can't even get anyone who owns one of this litter to price them.. Mine has wone the National run off twice, she has won the state runoff she has won 1st both days At NHBA days, and multi other stuff not listing it all. So no I am not a Reggie hater, Give credit where its due...Until you own something better stop bashing,, jealousy is an UGLY thing..

Re: Top Sire
who was the breeder of the maggie and reggie cross?likeemfast wrote:OK John, i will switch it up for ya, FTCH Three Jays Jacks Maggie bred to your Super Stud IFC Reggie, another good producing female and your stud, produced 4 or 5 pups, some culled couple others just average rabbit dogs, DEFINITELY NOT FC MATERIAL OR FOR THAT MATTER FIELD TRIAL MATERIAL. When she was bred to FC Awful Bawlin Let Er Rip and FC Awful Bawlin Verswhacker she produced FC's out of both, Another top producing female bred to Reggie and nothing, but out of both these FC's i mentioned FC's were born, imagine that.
Are ya beginning to see a pattern here with that super stud you talk about yet? I know i am. I do of course have to say that both those FC's i mentioned were outta ?????????????? Go ahead and guess............. drumroll please......................... MOUNTAIN MAN!!!!!!! Thats an example of what ive been talking about the whole post, a good hound that produces good hounds. Both Reggie and Mountain Man had the opportunity to prove their worth with both those good producing females and only one dog did. Then his sons went on to do the same thing with a female that when bred to Reggie did nothing.

Re: Top Sire
Vicki, Congrats to you on your hounds too, as i told Chimney Rock im happy for both of you and glad you like your hounds. My point never was Reggie does not produce any good hounds at all. So as i read ur post and understand it, do so with mine too. Jealousy, i think not, but were all entitled to our opinion.

OMG! Don't some get enough?
U can't go to a trial LP or AKC that there's not one there and someone bragging!
One well known 15 mail judge made a comment in indi that he would hate to put a win on anything but a Reggie dog

Yep, and the week before that I took him to Palmer LPH were he placed second to finish. He was a natual in Larger Pack on Hare.Haire-Bear wrote:I Judged Reggie a few years back in Maine at the Large Pack on Hare Champion of Champions where he took 2nd.,nice running hound. The hound that won was FC Babbit's Smoker(won it twice) and NlPC/FC Nemasket's Big Spring took 3rd. He ran where ever they dropped him, very impressive. Campbell

Re: Top Sire
So round2it insinuates a judge comments he only likes to name Reggie hounds as winners of male 15'' class, wonder who won that trial that week in Indy? Bet i can guess who he was out of.

Re: Top Sire
Just stating a fact. I don't have any Reggie blood, i have one of the other better beagling top sires 5 out of 6 hounds in my kennel. A good hound is a good hound no matter spo or lph , just run what u like. If he was bred to xxxhound and all were junk and were culled, i say the breeder is doing thier job, and not trying to pass off junk onto other people. Not every cross works. Campbell

Re: Top Sire
i can personaly say i had a reggie male that was put in maybe 5 or 8 trials
never drew a minus or off game was a total rabbit dog. ( UNIL YOTES GOT HIM)
won some cast with him nothing big
but i could or would have laid my pay check on it he would jump more rabbits and run them right
than most of the dogs out there.
the point is now likeemfast find the other 1499 and see where there at maybe that will take you mind of this post

Re: Top Sire
I have bred the same male and female 2 or 3 different times and the litters were completely different. Every time I think I have it figured out it blows up in my face. Go figure.
Re: Top Sire
Breeding is an addictation, same as gambling, sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. If we all new how to conquer this breeding program it wouldn't be any fun anymore. I don't raise a lot of pups, but what I have has what I was expecting. I bred to a dog local, that I ran with, handled and knew his faults. That's were I think we, don't take the time to really see, if this is truely the dog you want to breed to. There are so many great Champions out there, but sometimes there's that one dog in your own backyard, that is even better, JMO.
