Re: FTC Mikerma's Super Dog
6 years ago, I bred my favorite female, GRCH Weedeater Abigail, to Superdog. She had 12 pups but the 13th was still in her without us knowing. Pups began to die and she died also before we could get her help. We were able to bottle raise 1 male pup (Spruce Fk. Job). Job turned into a really nice dog. He has Hard hunt and a true mouth and very good speed. I believe he could have been a really nice trial dog aside from being a Gun dog, had I continued in trialing much. I havent seen many dogs out of Superdog but we def. like the one we have.

Re: FTC Mikerma's Super Dog
Well, if you are talking Mikermas Super Dog breeding you must acknowledge FC Kemler's Super Girl. She was Super Dog's first Field Champion. She was a grand old lady that I buried a few years back. Mike White (Mikermas) was a good friend of mine from up in Canada. I really enjoyed talking with him at the Canadian trials. I have 3 little females still out of Super Girl and IFC Murray's Little Blazer (Heli-Prop). Last year I decided to enter Joker into a trial in PA since she had done so well during hunting season. She won the trial with 45 hounds entered. Last year I bred Joker's sister to my Ranger Dan male (Boomer) and at 11 months the results have been outstanding, except all but one went big and one over 15 1/2". Since I buried Boomer last week, I won't be doing that cross again. I've even had random calls from folks in Canada looking for Top Dog bred hounds, since I was breeding Super Girl and Super Chic at the time. Super Dog has been my best breeding to date and probably into the future.

I've got a g-grandson to him that money won't buy. The rest of his ped is sock it to me and knick.
Re: FTC Mikerma's Super Dog
Nine out of the ten dogs I kennel have at least on shot of FTCH Otterbrook Top Dog in them. I have two female directly off FTCH Mikerma's Super Dog. What I like about the Top Dog stuff is their the intelligence, desire, nose and control.

Mike White was the breeder on super dog, he often visits the beagles canada site, not able to get around in bush anymore due to his health. Greg if you were to ask this question on that site you would get some answers as the older generation can tell you about most of the hounds that ran hear in Atlantic Canada.

Found this picture of SuperDog online. He was a good looking hound and my female out of him is second to none. Wish I had a whole kennel of them.

Mike hasn't posted on that site in over 2 years. I'm afraid to ask.Elmer Fudd wrote:Mike White was the breeder on super dog, he often visits the beagles canada site, not able to get around in bush anymore due to his health. Re: FTC Mikerma's Super Dog
Prime Time crossed well with different bloodlines; I think there were pups by 26 out of the 30 different bitches he bred that had AKC licensed places, but the best overall litter was by FC Smith's Bonny Lou by Super Dog & a direct Heli-Prop bitch. I think a little Super Dog blood in your kennel can do nothing but help in my opinion. Some of the best pups by several males I can think of were by Super Dog bred bitches.

Re: FTC Mikerma's Super Dog
I bred Dolly to Superdog back in 2004 (?) based on a bunch of research and watching 2 sons of his (by different dams) win 2 Mid-West fields trials in a row. Charles' Big Loop - I think Big Mark Brown (OH) owned him. Ask him about Loop. I loved what little I saw of that dog. I knew whatever I did would be a total outcross for Dolly, so I wanted a sire that was consistently prepotent with different dams. That led me to Supe.
I talk to Mike White - I can tell him y'all are asking; maybe he'll post here. I sent a couple of the Dolly/Super Dog pups up to him, and the female produced FTC Mikermas Farmer Clem.
Woody Gearheart owned Super Dog in the second part of his life. After Mike White finished him in Canada, he sold him down here with the hopes of making him an IFC. Woody told me he was a good dog, but couldn't keep feet on him long enough to trial him hard. Not unusual for some pink-padded dogs.
Here's a thread on Supe from last fall:

Re: FTC Mikerma's Super Dog
Bev,
I have breed to farmer Clem twice now. He is a real nice looking blue / red tick hound standing 14.5 / 14.75 first litter is 2 now and they are getting ribbons with my limited training time. They have lots of foot and decent nose power, but are way to smart for there own good. I just breed him to my Rolling trails /hales target female. I have high hopes for the cross. Clem has a nose that shines on the real bad days -35 c plus wind chill about 40 below and he could circle the hare to the gun, not some thing I would video but still impressive we got 7 that day off him. I never got to see super dog run but I have seen some of his pups and up here they looked good on snow and ice. Mike does not post much any more but I think he learks a little. I know his eye site was getting bad the last time we were to see him.

Bonnie Lou and Super Girl were full sisters. It was a repet cross. The dam was Woodeye's Turbo Girl (Heli-Prop & Branko's Suzie (out of Ali-Baba)). The old Heli-Prop to an Ali-Baba female, don't you know.
