A person can get a permit to run in a designated training area from the DNR. The permit is renewable every 3 years and best of all it's free. One just has to fill out the form showing where in the section the training area is. It does not need to be fenced but signs must be put up every 150 feet around the designated area.

I had these signs made for my 5 acre running pen so I could still use it during the nesting season. My pen has been a designated training area for the last 12 years.

Also one does not need to be the land owner, You just need their permission ,address, and phone number for the permit application.

Rule #1 ....Dont get caught....

I only run solo during the quite season only in a couple spots that I feel safe doing it, If I was to be seen I can get 1 dog on a lead faster then I can a pack of them ... :D, Just taking a dog for a walk is not against the law ....

Well, don't know how much it cost, don't care. We had 15 dogs out last night. Great fun. I do not turn loose until the turkey hunters are out of the woods because I don't want to hear them bitch, but, other than that, I have never been bothered.

Good man ! I run on 2 property's (110 acres combined) that is private and no one but me should be there so that makes it easier for me to not have to worry about turkey hunters
