like i said earlier , if the ACK trialers from 50 years ago didnt ruin the breed , nobody will , they breed that crooked leg stuff on purpose and guess what , all my dogs have straight legs today , too many likes and dislikes to have a hunting standard , just because i like a certain kind of dog dont mean its what the next guy likes , i like a big dog , tall , heavy built , dont care if it is over 15 , hope they are personally but im sure there is someone out there that loves 12 or 13 inch dogs that wouldnt breed what i have and im fine with that , as long as they dont try and tell me i cant or shouldnt ! maybe one of these two guys should just forward you their feed bills since your concerned enough about it too go off topic and slam them for not having your beliefs

I believe he meant the dog was kept in a kennel with a wire floor and is atributing that to the dog having crooked legs.

IMO wire want cause crooked legs , but what do I know . And your pups from a dog that way may be showing this deformity but will show up down the road maybe from those pups pups or the next generation .

Look at the pedigree. If it shows up I did not put it there. Both females are neices by his litter mate. I don't believe it will show back up. It might but I don't think so unless I outcross.

I have never heard of a above ground kennel causing crooked legs either but what do I know all my dogs have always been in a above ground from pups!!

Actually I'm pretty sure that the close linebreeding can cause the deformitys, but just what I THINK I REMEMBER hearing! Its ok though because I'm not feeding them and don't have to look at them but I can promise you this, if a pup is born with a bad bite or crooked legs its GOING TO BE CULLED at my house!!! Jmo

If one was really worried about the breed as opposed to his own kennel, he would cull the whole litter and possibly both the sire and dame.

Not trying to upset anyone or make enemies because we all love beagles and beagling, but it looks like only one person answered
the question of what supplement to use for joint pain. How it got to breeding ethics and culling beats me. I'm not trying to ruffle
anyone's feathers or get any negative feed back. JMO...

This board is a great way to share anything to do with beagling and I've learned lots of things about beagling from people on here
and enjoy watching beagling videos of dogs that I would never otherwise get to see run.

I hope you find a supplement to help ease your dogs pain and keeps her doing what she loves to do.
I would talk to a vet that you trust.
