are you having an issue with the dogs coat?

I had a dog with dry skin and her coat didn't look very nice. I used this and it worked. she shined up and dry flakes went away.

Another good product is sold by most feed stores. tractor Supply generally has it. It is called Super 14 and comes in a pail. This is a powder. A 3 pound pail is about 16 dollars and a 6 pound pail is around 28 dollars. lot of powder in a pound. Very good product lot of nutrients for the coat and nails. Labeled for horses and dogs. Be careful with this product, after a couple of months your dog may slide right out of your hands.

Happy Jack makes a liquid in a pump. I use this if I am pounding them hard. A few squirts on there food. They do like it, i use it for pups more frequently. 3 times a week in small amounts. Good luck!

I've had good results with the ToneKote also. I think my female likes it as much or more than the food itself.

We give all of our dogs 1 fish oil capsule (1000mg) per 10lbs of body weight every day in their feed. They all have sleek, shiny coats and look great.

Just wanted to update. My dogs are kept outside on dirt pens so their coats are not as sleek as dogs off the ground. When I saw this post I began giving two of my dogs Fish oil capsules and two of them the Happy Jack Tonekote. After two weeks it is evident that the Tonekote has given much better and faster results. I used it everyday for the first week and now everyother day. All four dogs have shown improvement but the two on the tonekote look noticeably sleeker. Just thought I would share my experiment with anyone wanting more info. I will probably begin to use just a few times a week now. Also I am feeding an inexpensive food and they have been eating it for months. So the only change was the tonekote.

thank you for your input. I am using omega3 caps 1000mg , twice per/week , was concerned about 1,000mg on a 25 pound dog. So only twice weekly for now. So far big improvement., I have 200 of these caps, so i guess I'll stick with these for awhile.

I've tried fish oil, canned salmon, and some of the items marketed towards dogs. After trying different things I've settled on ground flax seed. It provides I higher amount of Omega 3 without the issues related to fish oil. A couple teaspoons mixed in their food 2-3 times a week is sufficient. I buy it at an "Amish" type store.

There's a ton of information about flax seed for dogs if you do a google search.

So for the guys feeding the tonekote, if you are kenneling multiple dogs in same run how are you feeding it?

I just squirt it on their food at feeding time. Each dog has its own bowl so I know how much each is getting.

I, too, was seeing my dogs coat as dry and very shiny. After reading this i tried the tonekote, it has made a tremendous difference in the way my dogs look. They look sleek and shiny. I would like to try the super 14 because I will save more money over the long run. What is the recommended dosage for the supper 14?
