Utimate destination?

Post by RHYRE »

What state has the best rabbit hunting? I have been wanting to make a week long trip for a while now. I have done some research online but it's hard to find any info on rabbit hunting. I am not asking you guys to give up your hot spots. Just some insite on a state with some good public land where I can run the legs off my dogs and put some meat in the freezer.

Good question. I have been wanting to do the same thing. It's hard to find info on any state about rabbit hunting.

lebro may be on to something.A couple of years ago I went on a pheasant hunt in Iowa and seen a lot of rabbits. We stayed at the farm we hunted, they had the basement all set up for hunter's. Complete kitchen, a bath and bedrooms it was nice. They fed us a good homemade breakfast and after that we were on our own. They also had kennels set up in a barn, the dogs were as comfortable as us. I thought at the time it would be nice to come back and rabbit hunt. It was pretty reasonable, we hunted 3 days and stayed 4 nights for 450.00 each. Maybe call some places that offer pheasant hunting and get their take on rabbit hunting, going after the bird season would provide some extra revenue for them and possible discounts to you.
