I give shots at 7, 10, 13, 16 weeks, 6 months and 1 year and May of each year thereafter.
I chose May because my birthday is in May and I remember to do it then.
The first 3 shots only give limited immunity.
Until about 2 weeks after their 16 week shot, I try not to let them around other peoples dogs and areas where other animals have been.
For worms, I alternate between 3 day treatments of Safeguard and 1 dose treatments of Ivomec every 2 weeks starting at 4 weeks until 2 weeks after the pups are weaned and then mostly just use Ivomec, once a month and Safeguard only if I see signs of tapeworm or if I see the pups eat something really nasty.

I had a vet tell me @ 6/12/16. I believe the idea is to have the 3 shots by 16 weeks of age , but not too close together,to allow the immune system to build up. I was told 3 was all that was needed. Also found out that the " yearly booster " isn't needed as often. The claim , by an old time vet , is that vaccines are normally good for 7-10 yrs. I got this link before from another beagler on this site. Watch the video clips on the top of his page. Check it out,,,,,,

That old country vet is right. The small animal vets really soak people now.

bbc-president, First 5-way at 5-1/2 weeks, 2nd one at 8 weeks, 1st 7 way at 11 weeks, 2nd one at 14 weeks, 3rd one at one year old. Booster at two years old. I do not vaccinate dogs ( other than rabies) after they are two years old. Never had a dog catch any kind of disease.
