Food plots for rabbits?
I am an avid deer hunter. And I plant several food plots for deer hunting on my property. And I have always noticed lots of rabbits feeding in my plots while sitting in my stand. And that got me thinking about planting smaller plots in some of the places I rabbit hunt. Anyone ever try this? I'm betting if I planted some clover around field edges it would really attract and hold rabbits in the area. Any opinions?

Clover, vetch and rye grass are a very good investment. I would suggest a tall varity of clover as the bunnys would have cover while in the food plot. If you mix rye grass with the clover, go light on the rye seed as it tends to crowd the vetch and clover.

any clover will attract rabbits but I prefer clemson , aslo like winter peas & winter wheat , these all work good for me when put out maybe in later sept early oct and in early spring try some milo maybe not the best for rabbits but it will hold & hide them and quail & turkey ,deer will push it over so the bunnys can also reach it . Just some things I've had good luck with ;-)

I read on another website that vetch was nature's birth control. Anyone else hear that? Also know that snakes love it, here in PA, black snakes take many rabbit nests.

I agree with the snake part , I've seen several in some areas with fetch & your right they will riddle rabbit nest , don't know about the birth control thing.

Anything you plant for deer with benifit the rabbits. Rabbits are very good at survival on whatever food is avalable. The most important thing to help your rabbits is making sure there is PLENTY/PLENTY/PLENTY of rabbitate (cover for them to live in) around the food or in large sections (10 plus acres).
