Who makes a good pair of insulated briar proof gloves? Can't seem to find anything I really like. Would be great if they were made in the USA.
I just got my filson hunting jacket with the blaze orange ten mile cloth. Absolutly love it. This is a coat that you will pass down. I have to say I've never seen better workmanship on a garment than this. Made in USA. I have no complaints so far other than its cut a little short in the waist. I'm sure I will find a few more faults as the season goes on. Filson offers a pair of deerskin insulated gloves, but the price tag is a little too high.
Took two dogs out to state land on Sunday. Had a few good races. Dogs hunted and worked together great. My patch male is now into his third season and he really has turned a corner. Not that he couldn't circle a rabbit before, It justs seem that he is getting wiser. Always been a heck of a jump dog but now his line control is better and a little smarter in the checks.

Re: briar proof gloves
I use a pair of calf skin construction gloves. They are not insulated but work well enough for me in TN.

Check Menard's, they have some deerskin gloves that are insulated and have worked well for me. I also like the goatskin ones in the warmer weather.

You can go to my web site and look up under Dan's I sell a pair of Non-Insulated and also a pair Insulated Gloves seem to work pretty good. I like the Non-Insulated as I think the Insulated are too much can not move your fingers good.

Tim,
I have a pair of the Dan's uninsulated briar proof gloves and I love them. Chip is right you won't need the ones with insulation. the uninsulated gloves are just right.
