I have a huge problem!!!!!! Any help?

Post by old blood beagles »

My problem is that my hounds are just too good. I was running them today just for fun and "Dan" caught another rabbit. This makes six this year. What am I to do??????????????

Had my 6yr. old grade hound show my high power ones how to do it yesterday, he caught 2!!! Bad weekend for dumb rabbits that don't want to run away!!

I will legitimize mine. One rabbit was 3/4 grown and was missing a foot, no joke!! Rocco just picked him up after a 10 yard sight chase. The next one was healthy and full size and they ran it for about 20 minutes(8 dogs) and I think he was in the right place at the right time.

Here is the only thing I have found to work. I have the same problem, they have cleaned out most of my running spots.
I double feed and keep them fat as pot bellied pigs. Regular dog food may not work I have to add steak and eggs.
I have had one skin a rabbit but never put it in a bag!
