Texas Rabbit Population

Post by tiny »

Have any of you that hunt in Texas noticed a steep decline in the rabbit population? Where I run here in deep east Texas the rabbits are almost non existent.

Shelby county is where I live & hunt. My honey holes that used to produce unreal numbers of swamp rabbits are dead. I've even gone so far as to have me & the kids on horses riding thru the brush to stir them up on occassions but the rabbits are just not there. The lack of rain for the past two years isn't helping out the situation.
