A general forum for the discussion of hunting with beagles, guns, clothing and other equipment and just talking dawgs! (Tall tales on hunting allowed, but remember, first liar doesn't stand a chance)
Bev,
It is fine with me if you disagree with me on this one and I respect your right to do so. I would like to say however that I for one am not happy to see any of what I consider my online beagle friends at each others throats and remained out of it until way late in the game. I stated before that I trial very little and as a matter of fact have not been to an ARHA event since sometime around the year 2000 so it is not for my sake personally that I am worried. I learned along time ago that people are quick to bitch and complain and then slink off to safety when the going gets tough and more often than not leave you in the lurches. I worked for a company for 10 years and all the people did was whine about how bad conditions got. All day long everyday I listened to the woes and problems and finally had enough. I one day began wearing along with a few of these people a blue armband (made of tape) and was quickly approached by our sniveling personal manager. When he asked what was wrong I told him that conditions had deteriorated so bad that all of the people were in such a lousy state of mind that it was effecting their work performance. The armbands were a show of common concern and a statement rather than shuting down and walking out. So help me it is all true.....by lunch we were all gathered in the lunch room for an emergency meeting with the company president. All the big wigs were there with arms crossed, staunch faced and just itching to get to the bottom of it all. When the president of the company looked at everyone in the room and asked what the concerns were every one of them to a man (and woman) looked about the room as if they were in absolute darkness. NO ONE HAD BALLS enough to speak up!!! It was then the President said "Mike you tell me ...I know you are not afraid to speak your mind". Well like an idiot I felt it was now my calling to save the world, do the right thing, stick up for all! BULLSH!?T I let the guy know in very diplomatic terms that the company that had prospered off those bathing in the toxic chemicals and metals for the past 10 years had seemed to forgotton their promise of dealing with the "pay cuts", "lost benefits" and other concessions were delt to the workers in order to get the company through the "hard times". Well there is no sense in me getting into all the dirty details now but suffice it to say it was a real eye opener for me into the workings of the average whining human. Not one of those that began and ended each day bitching about their lot in life and how "unfair" they were being treated would fight for themselves. Following the meeting all returned to their corners of the factory like a bunch of little frightened sheep. I was pulled aside by a friend in the office and given heads up that "at all costs Perry goes" by those who were upset that the "word" had gotten to the top man. The president was fired and for the record there was another meeting within days of that one and this time it was with the owner of the company who appologized for how bad feelings had become between the people and the company. The man had tears in his eyes when I spoke up and said "welcome back" and again people sat with mouths clamped shut. These people taught me a valuable lesson let me assure you. I still am very out spoken, pull for the underdog and fight for whats "right" not for what is "popular". Those who live in my community can tell you lots of stories about me around here and some of which might make you chuckle and others you might think could have landed me on CNN or FOX News, which had to be with me not allowing myself or family to be bullied. BUT!!! I am very careful about taking up my sword and fighting for others who refuse to stand with me side by side and have found that many talk the talk but will not walk the walk. As I said before what happens to ARHA/NKC is no hair off my chin but I think it does matter to many others and I hate to see one more pro hunting organization bite the dust. When I read the posts on this site I figure they are to pass along information to all of those who read them and not just to communicate between a couple of parties. It is my understanding that in this situation only a few were invoved and wrongfully delt with. I"m not sure what the pupose of the posts were. If they were merely meant for those involved I would have thought phone conversations or personal messages would be used. When I hear talk of switching registeries, not registering litters, and the like I thought it sounded like a call to arms. I guess I may be reading things wrong and this is where I got the impression folks were out on a "pay back" mission. I seem to recall Bev a post sometime back (I hope I got the right lady) who used to be a director of a health care institution and how the top brass and the way they approach the workers each day sets the tone of the group as a whole. I could not agree with that philosophy more and I am that type of nurse manager myself. I would hope all would take a page from that book. My point is and remains that it might be better to work things out rather than do battle. You folks do what ever you want though, you will in the end anyway. And when it comes to smearing the past hard work of others I will remain firm on this. It seems unfair to take the stand that I have been hurt so I will hurt someone else. If and when these few guys get a chance to again sit down with those who came down on them I hope they have some company with a spine this time to speak up on their behalf so that a more fair and favorable outcome can be reached.
Oh and one more thing! I do not know of anyone who does not take pride when their hounds brings home the "goods" and yes I am proud of the trophies and ribbons that we have won. I feel no shame in admitting it as we have worked very hard for those few we have. Nobody can say I was ever buddy judged because nobody ever knew me when I went there but they sure did when I left. The offer always stands for anyone wanting to come run with me and I will try to find some room to put you up. Be sure to bring your best hounds and to leave your excuses home though.
Peace and love,
NYH
PS: I know you are all really good folk because I would not hang out with those that were not so please do not get angry with me. I will now keep my mouth shut on the topic and wish you well.
When my life on earth is ended....this is all I'm gonna say...Lord I've been a hard working pilgrim on the way!
New York Hillbilly, your words are like the music of a good pack of beagles! I don't know you but I do like your talk and I got a feeling you do walk it. This will be it for me too but I will say that I have emailed Mr. Dale Morgan respectfully. Before I go I want to paint you all a picture: Looks like the fellow in the middle is in trouble and I think the other two might lend a hand. Wayne
I think this would make a great article for the American Beagler. Interview all parties involved and print what they have to say. As much interest as this has generated, it couldn't hurt.
Just don't do it before my subscription comes through.
I would like to thank Bev and Brian Joiner and any others who have spoken up about my honesty. It really makes me feel good at this difficult time for me.
I really feel that the meeting on 8/14/04 was called to convict Randy,Matt and I, there was no attempt to resolve the issues at CIBC. In my opinion the whole club and all its members should of been put on probation.I'm not totally blameless here, but neither is any one else involved with this.
I do know that I received two different answers from the Chairman of the Watchdog Committee and Del Morgan on the recommendations of punishment for me and Randy.
It would've only taken a simple little club meeting to have avoided this entire mess.
So if you all are having a tough time figuring out who is telling the truth, so am I, and I'm right in the middle of this mess.
The good news in all this is that I'll have a lot more time to Rabbit hunt this fall and winter, since I won't be chasing points.
in reading all all post from the differnt boards i think that you will not get the hole trueth. because we were not there. but as someone that does not trail at this point, but hoping to in the near future. there will be no true winner in this, but alot of bad blood between lots of good people in our sport. the only thing that i can come up with is ban all involved in this mess for 18 months. and i do mean ALL. that gives everybody time to cool down and possible rewrite some of the rules so something like this doesnt happen agian to our great sport. as i have been always told its not if you win or lose its how you play the game. so please lets be all good sportsmen.
I've heard what managements response was to this and I've also heard the response from the guys that were banned. There still has not been a response as to why the members of the club could not have a meeting and why the bi-laws were not presented. If you feel something is wrong within a club have the club President, Vice-President, Secretary and Club board members along with other members sit down and discuss it within the club. Why would Mace not hold this meeting and present the bi-laws to all club members and fix whatever problem there was within the club?????It's said that the secretary was paying himself throughout the year.ARHA rules state that the secretary is to recieve a gift of not less than $500.00 and not more than $1000.00 in December of that year from the club.I know that he is the Chairman of the Board but any other funds should come from the organization. I just wish someone (Mace) would explain why this couldn't be resolved at club level and why it had to go so far.All of this could have been avoided. Good people have been hurt here and ARHA clubs will be loosing good people that are members from all of this. Rules get broken all the time but not intentionally. If they do then discuss it and don't crap like this happen. It's sad that when you try to be an honest person and address certain things that need to be addressed you end up getting banned. After all is said and done we probably will still not know why Chairman of the Board Mace Clark denied his own club from resolving this matter from within!!!!
ARHA Beagler,
When I contacted Joyce, Del and Ron Ramsey I asked each of them if Mace answered the questions he was asked at this meeting. The answers I got ranged from yes to well maybe all but one but they couldnt remember. The fact of the matter was Mace read a prepared 3-5 page statement and then sat and did not answer questions asked of him. There were a couple questions he answered by saying that he did not remember. The following were some of the questions he did not answer. Why did he demote Matt from State Rep in 2003
Why did he refuse to hold a club meeting to resolve all of this in the beginning.
Why did he refuse to provide the President of the club a list of membership for CIBC.
Why did he refuse to provide the membership of CIBC the club bylaws.
Mace did not answer these questions AND was not made to answer these questions by the watchdog committee or Del Morgan.
I would think that if I was in the watchdog committee's or Del's shoes and was about to make a decision as to the fate of someones future in NKC or at the least try to resolve the problem at hand I would demand someone to answer these questions. I asked Ron Ramsey why as the chairman of the watchdog committee he did not make Mace answer these questions. His response to me after alot of silence was "That is a good question".
I'm going to say one more thing about this and I'm done. At the start of the 2003 season there was a individual that was a member of a club that had access to the club funds. He used some of the funds to pay for personal bills. The ARHA banned him from the association. To me this is the same as paying yourself with the clubs money whatever you may use it for. Why is it ok for a top ranking official in the ARHA that is the secretary of a club to pay himself out of the club funds and not get the same punishment. If your going to support an organization they should have the same rules for everyone no matter what your rank is!!!!
They did ban him, but it only for 2 years. Not near the ban the other guys got. He will be able to come back this year 2005, all I know if you were on trial by a jury and you got ask a question then you have to answer or be held incontempt. I don't think this will ever go away. I know a lot of people will be hurt and it so bad. I know I will be rabbit hunt alot more this year, because until this is solved I think everyone will be look at under a microcope. I will say this people in the ARHA I have met some really great people. I don't want this to ruin the ARHA but it sure is hurting it.
Smile and let'em run to day because, who know what tommorrow will bring.

Sounds like this post was making reference to CIBC paying its secretary. I would like to make sure everyone is clear on this.
I WANT EVERYONE TO KNOW NO ONE EVER "TOOK" MONEY FROM CIBC, in DANVILLE THAT I KNOW OF. CIBC, as a club, and upon a motion being made and seconded, we voted as a whole in a club meeting for our club Sercretary to be payed per hunt/year. I dont want people getting this spun around. I havnt misguided people or told any mistruths, and I dont want to see people think something of that nature(stealing) happened in Danville.
