akc or ukc registration

Post by MAINESNOWSHOEHUNTER »

Does any one know if i could some how get a dog registered either akc or ukc if only the father of the pup is for sure akc registered. my buddy had a litter of pups and i was thinking about getting one they are out of is best male and a young female that is just getting started but i really like the way the male hunts. he has great nose and is fast even in the deep snow up here. He has akc papers and the only reason i was looking into getting the pup registered was i was thinking about doing a few trials during the off season. papers dont usually mean anything to me cause i only hunt. any help would be great

thanks

UKC is open registery, so if it looks like a beagle and smells like a beagle it's a beagle and they will give you paperwork. AKC is a lot trickier without both parents being registered but can be done if you have the right information and the unregistered dogs goes back to registered dogs and you can prove it.
