How do you keep your dog in shape when it's hot?

I have Swam my dogs for years now especially when humidity is a issue. The Throughbred Industry started several years ago and i find it is also a way to execute muscles they didnt realize they had. I started off as a rehab issue on a broken toe of my male but seen how well he enjoyed it,on the recomendation of my Vet i began to swim all my dogs and felt quite confident it was indeed worth the price of a tank and a few other pieces it took . There is also no stress added to joints its all about the Cardo. You will find 2-3 minutes of swimming them they are in a dead pant. After 30 or so days i had built them up to 30 Minutes and they looked awesome especially there front end.

I purchased a 150 Gallon Rubbermaid tank, Drilled two Holes on the outside center lip and added a eyelet to each side with a chain in the middle. Went to Petsmart and bought em a life jacket and the rest is history. I find myself adding sheep dip to my water occasionaly its cheaper than frontline plus it keeps my 6 year old daughter from climbing in the dogs water for a quick swim. Funny how a hilljack from the levee can be a enginer all in the same sentance but my setup works quite well

That's what I am talking about Mapel Valley. Now help a fellow hillbilly out. You just put the lifevest on. Secure them to the eyelets and let them dogpaddle until their litle heart is content?

jimmy's method works. i rigged up the same setup years ago after he did it and you will be amazed at how quick you have to get them out of it. their nostrils will start flaring in about two minutes. the only issue ive had with it is that sometimes they pull their back legs under them and dont use them.. so Ive had to hold the back of the life jacket. i have never been as consistent with it like Jimmy but it does give them a great workout. i know it helped with June's toe years ago.

Now Jimmy that is a heck of an idea. I had am old treadmill that I rigged up, made a little chute that I could harness her into and it worked pretty well. The only thing is you will have to work with them to get them use to it and you have to keep a close eye on them cause when they get tired you have to be there to turn the treadmill off. But I think I am going to try the The LEVEE SWIM TRAINING Method.
