Re: color of a dog
I have had a total of 6 born to two different females that I owned and I still have one of them now that is 5 years old. The problem I have seen with mine is that they develope a skin problem and their hair would come off when you run them hard and it would look like they have the mange but the vet said skin problem. Mine were in the Branko bloodline but I have also seen them in the Northway bloodline.

I don't think it's limited to the Northway or Branko lines but all "silver blue" in general ...

Re: color of a dog
I bred one of my gray beagles and she had two that color in one litter and one that color in another litter and yes you can register them ( Blue ). If her hair is thin now it probably all ways will be. I have followed the other gray dogs from my litters and all but one had the skin problem or at least the fellow said she was ok. The funny thing about mine is the hair is only thin where the gray color of hair is. There is plenty of hair where the white hair is. The female that I have now doesn't get hunted like the others because she looks like you took a razor blade to her when she comes out of the field from lack of hair to protect her and I hate that because she is really a pretty good dog that is full of a lot of the old Branko blood. I keep her at my uncle's house because he is 74 years old and still likes to hunt so I let him keep her because he really doesn't hunt that much. I guess I will just use her as a brood bitch because she has thrown some good pups.
Re: color of a dog
Depending on how old she is she may lose that gray color. I've got a female that was gray as a pup but by 6 months old she darkened right up.

In the 1970's I had a Patch that was the most beautiful silver- grey- blue you have ever seen. He had a very dense coat and never had any skin problems. He was out of Anderson's Patch.
