Garmin dc 30 or dc 40 ?

Post by drifter22no1 »

I have heard that the dc 30 is by far the better unit from several and was wondering what everyone thinks. I would like to hear the good, the bad, and the ugly on both units from as many users as possible.

I have never used them But I wittnessed 2 dc40's from 2 different units fail up on Drummond last October. We even left one dog out overnight and that was not a good thing. for the rest of the week we used my Johnson Telemetry collars and never lost another dog. I have never wittnessed the dc30's in use but I have heard that they work much better. Some day I will own a Garmin unit but it will be after they get the bugs worked out and I will probably still use my telemetry collars as a back up.

I not saying that they don't work I'm sure they do in the right terrain. This was just my obsevation.

DC 40 are awesome , No problems at all , just got them from Cabelas last week, they have worked flawlessly so far and I love them.
