Cold Morning Hunt w/ Pistols

Post by birmi1nr »

Temperatures were around 9 deg this morning (well below 0 w/ windchill) but the rabbits were out and about. We missed 2x as many as we shot. Two of us were carrying 22 pistols and couldn't seem to hit one to save our lives, but my dad was able to connect on 2 of the rabbits w/ his 410 contendor pistol and the 3rd rabbit my Trails male ran down and caught when the rabbit decide to make a run through the open woods. My fingers were so numb that I couldn't reload by pistol fast enough to shoot.

NorWester, I like him a lot and would take a couple more like him. Have you gotten any good ones out of Samantha?

I had a young male quit on me the other day so that was a disappointment but I've got 3 bitches that are coming on and a male pup just about 6 mths old that I'm hopeful about.
I'd like to get Samantha bred to a nice cold nosed Ranger Dan bred stud before she's finished but time is running out for her at 10 years old.

Here's a video clip of Samantha's youngest son Phatso running a feral rabbit, he wasn't yet 5 mths old in this clip. Phatso's sire is my Boomer dog, double bred Haunted Hill Shaker, and a son of Sangaway Doc Brannigan.
