A general forum for the discussion of hunting with beagles, guns, clothing and other equipment and just talking dawgs! (Tall tales on hunting allowed, but remember, first liar doesn't stand a chance)
We had a great hunt saturday. We had some nice runs. Some thru the woods and some thru fields. I would have to say more than 15 rabbits were jumped. somewhere around that number. We were able to knock out 12 rabbits on this hunt.
Ran into a bowhunter as i was working dogs thru an area I knew held rabbits. After just about walking under his stand I spotted him. I told him sorry didn't know he was there and moved the dogs on out. By the time we got done hunting i saw the man at the parking area with his son and a wheelbarrow with a nice tall 8 pointer. his son was just down the way from him in the woods. Well we were hunting back there and I think we helped them guys out by raising cain in them woods!! We saw some deer run out back in that area. I was happy for him we chatted a bit and we headed on home.
looks like an excellent day, I am a bird dog man but those pics bring back some memories of years ago, I wish I could get into a mess of rabbits like that, I can hear the pan sizzlin now! Joeyman u all have any quail or pheasant in the area? I could use an excuse to head for Missouri and maybe u could let me tag along after I put the Setter up for the day?

we don't have any pheasant around this area. I seen one only once and that was way up in northern Mo. We have a few quail but not alot. see them if we are lucky. I average about 3-5 quail a season if I can hit them....lol I use my leah dog to fetch them for me....
Missouri rabbits running for their lives!!!!
