Looking for some insight......My hounds seem to get some type of allergic reaction to something in the swamp certain times of the year. Their ears get all bumpy (inside and out) and it causes oozing sores that cause the hair to fall out and seems painlful to them also. It does sometimes spreads to the top of their head also. THe sores do go away in time but is there anything that I can put on the ears to help the healing process. I have heard other beaglers say that it is an allergic reaction to the CEDAR in the swamp, which I can understand - but is there something I can do short of lathering the ears in vaseline everytime they run ( I have never put vaseline on their ears, I am just saying) ????? I have tried Betadine scrubs too -
Any thoughts????? My vet doesn't seem to offer any solutions.....
Thanks

I have never ran in the swamp areas before but I have a female that has reactions to just about every thing and I went back looking into the older post and found some guy's talking about sores and such and said that they used NU-STOCK and it took care of every thing from ear mites down to hot spots so give it a try for 10.00 bucks it may just work.
it is a skin infection. you have to give them antibiotic pills to get rid of it.
