Which dog box do you prefer

Post by Smoke »

I have just turned 19 and my family said that they would buy me a new box. I need top storage. I would like to have one that is a all year around box. I know that there is several kinds. I need one big enough to fit up to 3 coon hounds in it to because I do it to. All help will be appreciated. What do you prefer and why?

I don't run coon hounds but once in a great while, so when I was looking for one, my biggest concern was weight. I wanted something I could load and unload myself. A factor you might want to consider.

Get yourself a camper shell. Build yourself a framed wire crate whatever size you want(lite and easy to handle). Summer time take the shell off and just use the wire crate so the hounds get pleanty of air. In cool weather put the shell on and you have your whole bed for storage and the hounds are protected from the weather. The shell is also handy when you go fishing, you can pack all your stuff and sleep in it if you want to stay all night. Main thing, go for virsatility to get the most use out of it and have the most fun ;) ...Patch

If you dont care about how heavy the box is buy a "Hertitage" box. If weight is a issue buy a "D-Lux" box. Ive owned both and they are both top of the line boxes!

I bought the Heritage box after looking at a lot of other cold weather boxes. Quality is first rate and it's a very rugged and attractive box. I have the 38" x 30" x 25" box with top storage and I can load and uload by myself but it IS kind of a chore. The thing that set it apart though was the 3/4" foam insulation throughout. Ken Simpson, the owner, gave honest answers to my questions and genuinely seemed to care that I was happy with the product. He even called to make sure it arrived in good condition. I recommend him and his product without reservation.

I have and recommend the Heritage also. I have the big one for a full size truck with top storage with carpet in the top to keep things from slipping around.
Since you are in Tennessee, they haul boxes all over in a double decker long trailer full of different types and color combinations. I recommend the one with the metal top and colored like you like all over the rest.
I usually call and meet them somewhere and look them over and try them in my truck. Great folks.
It will last a lifetime, but I have had many as I change colors of boxes to match truck colors. They take them in on trade ffor little boot and will have some used ones most times.

I have a D-Lux box and love it. I have a box for a fullsize pickup with top storage. I can load it myself with no problem. My box was at my house 4 days after I placed my order.

I purchased a Diamond Deluxe box two years ago. It's been in the back of my truck since I purchased it. It has about 50K miles on it already and still looks like new. Here's the link for their web site.

If I ever buy one instead of building my own,it will be an Aircraft Aluminum one.A friend of mine has one and they are tough, light, durable and cost efficient. You can get any type you want from their web site at http://www.dogbox.com/

If you rather have the diamond plate boxes try this site to compare prices. These two folks are good friends of mine and will treat you right.

I like what S. R. Patch recommended; but if you're determined to get a dog box, "Regal" is the very best. !!!!

I don't. I know Bill Boatman sells them. Post for information for a dealer in your area.
