Age of pup????

How old are the pups when you take them away from the Mom???

Most of the people I've dealt with do it between 6 and 8 weeks.

I agree six to eight weeks is good. I start taking mom away a little at a time around five weeks.

I try to start seperating them at 5 weeks. Mine turned 6 weeks today and have been away from mom since Friday.

I go by the bitch, if see does not start fussing at the pups I will go to 8 wks. I have taken 1 litter away at 5 wks, the bitch was getting a little rough. I guess she had had enough.

Well if there was ever a rough bitch this would be her,So I went ahead and put him in the puppy pen at 6 weeks.

I get pups going good on food at 4 weeks and taking the momma out for longer periods of time. At 5 - 6 weeks the mamma is only in w/ the pups at night. Then weeks 7 and 8 the pups are on their own and at 8 - 9 weeks they go to their new homes.
