Moth Balls, Snake A Way products, and etc... are basically useless for keeping snakes away.......I can't tell you the # of times my Pest Control customers used those products to keep snakes away and I found the snakes layed up coiled on top of the products alive and well, totally unaffected by those waste of money products.

Snakes are no different than any other animal- they go where there is food. I would bet you have a lot of mice around there and that is what is drawing the snakes. Get rid of the mice and rats- no snakes.

Where you see one rattle snake their is always another one around. As far as snakes biting hogs, I've always heard that it's the fat that's in a hog that absorb's the poison.

I thought I was surprised yesterday when I moved a Dog house & found A small Copperhead. From my experience, Copperheads & Cotten Mouths will make your dogs swell but they will be ok in a couple of days. Rattlers will kill them most of the time.

I have heard desel fuel poured around a kennel will keep snakes out.
