GOT A SUPPRISE WHILE FEEDIND DOGS
Went out to feed the dogs last saturday all of the was cutting a shine and wouldn't stop barking one of them was barking at the ground and I looked and saw a snake going under his lot,couldn't tell what kind it was then it went under my feed barrel that I had on a plat fourm then the snake started singing then I knew it was a rattle snake 10 rattlers and a buttom female,I went ahead an got my feed away from there when I noticed something up under the plat fourm yes another one 10 rattlers an a button it was the male.The male was 50 or 52 inches and the female was 41 inches.Also I have also kill a coper head this year in the same place.So I think snakes are going to bad in my neck of the woods.What is the best thing to keep snakes away???

I've always heard guinees, and have also seen hogs work. They can't penetrate the hide on a hog and the hogs will kill them.
Dry Creek Kennel-Bred to get it done where it counts the most "under the gun".

I'd move. Seriously.

Re: GOT A SUPPRISE WHILE FEEDIND DOGS
moth balls or moth crystals i use to crawl under houses everyday never seen a snake or signs under one that used this
Re: GOT A SUPPRISE WHILE FEEDIND DOGS
Police had road blocked off down by 5-Points, said to move on.
Talk at the coffee shop was they were releasing timber rattlers again.
Excuse= turkey population control.
I don't understand why they'd rather put poison snakes out around people, rather than open up turkey season restrictions and make more people happy with a turkey fry...
The nuts are running the asylum at the DNR...

Sure do skin easily, much easier than a catfish and cut lengthways and salted, or oiled, sure is an easy belt to make. One buckle, two brass brads and that's it!

I'm with Bev. I'd be gone and someone would have to bring me my dogs.

I never have to worry about snakes here, we dont have them here in Michigan
Re: GOT A SUPPRISE WHILE FEEDIND DOGS
They're here just not as populated or as big as a problem. I was surveying a corner lot north of Lapeer Mi, about 6 years ago, went to set the front lot corner, went to one knee and there in front of me was a 18in Massasauga, seen a few on Boise Blanc Island up next to Mackinac. But dont think they're as nasty as the ones he has pictured here. Those look like they'd put you and your dogs in the ground.
Question are cottonmouths, copperheads and rattlers that common over by Owensboro and southern Indiana?
