One little clip of a snow run

Post by Joeyman »

from the weekend. the dog leading would be my little lightning female that is now 9 months old. She is doing great and becomes faster and faster the more ground time she has. She also does a great job on snow. She started running wild rabbits a 3 months old.

one more clip. The dog at the end is a pup he don't know much I think he me too's half the time. Since season is out we are going to work with him solo. Just haven't had the time with all the rabbit hunts we do. Now that its over I have more time to focus on certain dogs and I also have my thunder pup to train too.

if you watch the video from the very begining you can see them put their nose in the rabbit tracts. Keep watching they put their heads down into the track for a spit second as they run the line. The last dog in clip one is my lisa dog she is one of my slower dogs she come out of the brush last.

the rabbit ran a big loop and ran across that open feild. it was a longs ways to out in the open like that.

I do want to add i think i've read on here that some dogs use their eye's and nose when running on snow. not sure but either way I had a blast hunting on snow 3 days in a row and I hate hunting on snow.....lol

Joey that first video is BLEEPING cool man!!! My dogs do the same, they run by seeing the track and then they put their nose in it to make sure its the hot track. They never run by sighting the track only. The tracks just serve as a place they know to smell for the scent....Nice video..DH

They look like they were doing well in the snow... Ours were trailing the same way saturday. They would stick their nose into the track.
