2/12/10 skunked on snow

Had to finally go and hunt on snow. It was the first time I have run my dogs on snow. Sam had four of his that had been out once or twice. The first one the jumped, they lost quickly. I think it was mostly due to them trying to run it too fast for the condition. They second lasted a while longer but they lost it too. Here's a short clip of the second chase.

I think the answers quite obvious. The dogs and I need more time on the snow.

they sound good shotgunjohn we are going out now with at least a foot of snow and are going to take 5 dogs the uther day we had 8 dogs and got 2 rabbits we let the first one run for the dogs i could of got him but we agreed to let the first one run. the dogs jumped 6 the last race was perty good tb could of got it but already got 2 and didnt know what was behide the rabbit.it wasnt bad for the coldest day of the year and public hunting grounds .

I think that snow looks pretty old and nasty to me.put them on some fresh stuff ,and they would do fine.
