Watch where you run

Post by TallPaul »

Almost lost a dog the other night. Went to a spot I ran several times last year. Got there and some other guys were just wrapping up and leaving, so I thought I'd run on the other end. Knew there was a Ditch/creek in there, but last year the snow had drifted over enough to support a dog. Got in there this year, and saw yote tracks on dark slushy ice. Knew it wouldn't hold me, called the dog off it couple times. Turned to make my way back to the truck and heard the pup go through, Lucky I was close to hear it, Lucky it wasn't out further from the edge, Lucky he didn't go through while he was driving a hare.

So watch the ice and and the shelf ice.
