Preacher, Sorry to hear about your dog . I know how you feel just lost one of the best I ever had . One of those once in a life time dogs . The last few times out I keep waiting for her to check back in with me and tell me we might as well move on boss no rabbits here or tell me that the scenting is to bad today might as well load up and go home or those young pups are not running a rabbit boss. She would jump up on my leg and whine if any thing she was running with ran trash. Smartest dog I ever had . I would call her to me when I saw a likly place for a rabbit and point to it and say look in there and she would go right in there no matter how thick she always tryed to please. Got to go for now my key board is getting wet.

Sorry to hear about Spirit, Preacher. I know its a hard loss with loosing Chief also, but try and keep your chin up. Sounded like from your past posts you have got some good young dogs headed in the right direction. Give me a holler if I can do anything to help you out.

Man i hate it for ya. There is nothing like a special hound, and i would venture to say that all of us that mess with em' have one or two. Keep your head up and remember all the good times. I am truly sorry for your loss.

Sorry for your loss Ricky, it makes me think of Spirit's mama. I took her to Drummond two years ago when she was ten. She seemed in good health for ten yrs. I decided to take her one last time sense she had made the trip six or seven yrs straight. I thought I would let her run for a few hours a couple of days. I ran her the first evening and she did a nice job but wouldn't eat that night. I tried to get her to eat over the next couple of days, offering her everything from dog food to gravy and eggs and steak. Then on the fourth morning she was gone. The owner of the cabin we stayed in let me bury her on the property. I think there could not have been a more fitting place to bury her. Don't quit, just start looking forward to the next good'un.

Dang Ricky I hate to hear that, sorry for your loss.

Sorry for your loss Preacher.. I've just read this before I head out to feed mine and even though it's cold I'll spend a little extra time with em this evening.. It's news like this that really makes you stop and realize just how much these little hounds can become "family" to us and how short our time is with them even if they live a long life.. If I can help you in any way please don't hesitate to call.

it was a sad day for me and after i thought about it and realise i watched her die man that really sucked .
randy the only reason i didnt post on your dog dyeing was it made me think of cheif and would have cried again .. should have posted i almost dehydrated today ..chuck r called me right after i bureied her next to cheif and i couldnt talk for crying i hate to be a sissy but i just couldnt help it ..she was my pal and will be sorely missed.

well its back to the drawing board i guess kinda ,,no seasoned dogs to help out anymore with cheif and spirit gone ..gotta get these pups inn the bushes and show me what they got now.
