Here is a litter just born this month. The female is out of Phil Walls, Patch breeding. This man was totally dedicated to his Patch dogs.

Diesel isn't a full patch, althoe he has some patch breeding in him he has alot of line bred FC Grassy Forks Komrade through the Bluejacket dogs ( UBGF style breeding ) Komrade was also the sire of FC Dunlap's Benson. Komrade goes back to FC Wind Creek Limbo. He also has other crosses in him that are not related to the Patch line. I know he's a good dog & not downing him but he's not gonna produce dogs that look like these hounds because he's not a Patch dog but a dog with some Patch breeding.
Mike,Charles,Randy,Terry,JB, Reddog & other Patch men if some of you could confirm this for him that would be more believable than just one person telling him. Diesel is being pushed as a full patch in this area.
FC Pine Grove Golden Nugget sire is FC Grassy Forks Komrade. Here is 4 generations on Diesel

Most Patch guys identify Patch hounds as being pure Patch throughout the pedigree. I'm preparing to make my first outcross from the Patch blood after 18 yrs. I will not refer to the hounds from that outcross as Patch hounds. I'll just stick Cold Fork(my kennel name) on their name and say that they have a heavy influence of Patch blood in them. It probably doesn't matter much either way, but most Patch breeders have a strong conviction about not having any outcrosses in their hounds.

dangit , i could have bought him one time but wouldnt because I couldnt stand the thoughts of a patch hound in my kennel, lol. if I had only known. Diesel may not be a patch but the old man can run a bunny , and is as straight as an arrow. He is one of the unsung heros because he was never trialed.

You all are invited to Arkansas. There are so many coyotes there aren't any rabbits. Had to bring in the dogs this morning from the fenced in yard cause the yotes were running thorugh and I didn't want to feed them. My hounds would be bait. There was a topic in an earlier forum about if coyotes could catch the rabbits. They do around here. The evidence is in the droppings. This is the only way my hounds get to see what a rabbit smells like. My horses have taken out a few coyotes. It must have been an interesting affair. Happened way out in the pasture, so we didn't know. Now they stay at the barn at night.

dave g, Rose was a nice hound. I dont' have any pics of her. She was liver/red blanket back with good conformation. She was a solid running hound but her strongest point was her hunt and her rabbit jumping ability. I kept her and her littermate sister, Cold Fork Teka Patch for myself from that litter. I eventually sold Rose to Plowboy and kept Teka. Teka and Rose were sired by the best hound I've owned, Cold Fork Gunner Patch. Gunner was medium fast with great line control and was a great check dog. He had the ability to dominate a good pack of hounds, which he did most of the time. I ran him in some ARHA PP hunts and within about a year he had 3 wins toward GRCH and was a BCH. I had planned on finishing him into GRH in PP and then start running him AKC Mid-West trials. I really believe he had the ability to finish in the Mid-West. He could get on the front and hold the line and could turn the line behind the leader. Unfortunately he died at age three in 1998. I only bred him twice, once to Doug Bragg's Katy-Did Patch and once to my Faith female.

When Preacher sold me Rebel a few years back I didn't know anything much about his ancestors or those that raised him.. I soon found out after meeting some of ya'll that he came from good owners and good stock. Preacher said he didn't open soon enough in the trials to suit him and to this day he is still somewhat that way.. I like it for hunting though since I know when he speaks the rabbit is up.. I hated to hear that his Chief had passed away.. Never saw him run but I know he meant alot to Preacher just as Rebel does to me.....Glad to see you on the board JB... I've sure missed getting together with you and Doug for the Drummond trip.. I've had a hectic 2009 but I'm planning on making amends in 2010 and doing some things that have been neglected way to long... get ready Big Head's Patch Wagon may be headed to a town near you.....LOL
