AKC TRIALS or ARHA HUNTS

Post by SmoothDogg »

Guys I live in Eastern Kentucky (Clay County) and was wondering if there is any type of hunting trials around my area. I am very interested in getting involved in the trial part of the sport but dont know where any trails are held. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Depending on how your dogs are registered and what type/style of hound you run I would look into the A.K.C. S.P.O. trials run by the Mid-West Beale Gundog Association. Many of their Kentucky clubs hold their trials in the Berea,Ky. area or near the I-75 corridor. You can find a link to them on the inter net with more info.

There's several midwest trials aroud you. South ky. beagle club, Jessamine beagle club, and Mid ky. beagle club all use the same clubhouse in Berea ky. That's not very far from you at all. If you want to arha LP then eastern ky is full of these clubs. Heres some links for you to look at:

You might try both formats to see which you like better I run both and like them both. There is a ARHA little pack club in London, Ky, and one in Hindman, Ky neither one would be to far from you.

Go to ARHA.COM, you will find a list of clubs and other info such as dates of up coming trials, phone #'s of club members, etc.

I run some in ARHA Progressive Pack, you might like that format also, try them all and see what you like.
