Dave

It got me in trouble too.

Best to keep quiet and let the dead get better each year. Hope that holds for us old men too!

I will say that in my opinion for rabbit hunting, AKC dogs are now better on average than ever before. I'm proud of what the new breeders are bringing to the table. They don't have to back up to none of the old time breeders.

Keep in mind the breeders, then and now were and are breeding for a different type of dog and both, are and were successful in their goals.

Go back to the 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's, to go rabbit hunting, I don't know anyone that didn't take a grade dog.

Rose City Duke
Rose City Sparky
Rose City Missy

Certainly not the best of all time, but I raised them, they worked really hard for me and I killed a truck load of rabbits over them. I was a teenager and these dogs taught me much of what I know about beagles and even a bit about life and death.

It would be very special to have all 3 at the same time for a Saturday hunt!

Forgot to mention Turbo as a hound I would have liked to have seen run. As far as holding candle to father & son, I've seen Prime Time run off and leave Jackpot while on a long drive during a hunting trip. Prime Time was only about 18 months old at the time. Prime Time wasn't trialed until I got him at age 6; just think of what a mark he could have made if he would have finished at age 2 or 3 when he should have.

medicine man sly--guynns dusty--medicine girl kista--littlefoots t bird--guynns popeye--pearson creek king-horserock buck.why because i own them and they where what i hunted with and trialed with, and they where the best in my eyes. knot to say anything about the rest of the dogs mentioned on the page but trialing and hunting are two differnt things but when you can combine both then they would be your dogs im proud to say. GOD BLESS all of these are champions but, buck needs a first and dusty never ran a trial. king was from the old school just hated rabbits.

If the hounds you mentioned ran in one pack it probably
would be a first class mess
Doubt they were compatable enough to be a first class pack of hounds

Waits Ky Amy, Waits Ky Rock, Bruners Pepper, Pine Mt. Chester, Wilders Slickrock Max. A lot of you on here probably don't know these dogs but you could run any of them as a pack or solo and it was on. I've watched dogs run all my life and I've never seen any better any where. They were all good jump dogs and good rabbit dogs. I would like to throw in Pine Mt. Voo Doo also= same category.
