I"m also new to rabbit hunting, but in this case I think I would just take the pups one at a time out with the older dog until it improves it's hunting, running and tracking ability. If the one pup tries to keep the others away from the running hound then they are a good chance that the pups may just give up. That's just my opinion and like I say I'm also new to this.

Seperate them all and until they start running a line and concentrating on what they are doing. Then run in pairs once in awhile to see how they are progressing. Four young dogs together is a great method for developing alot of bad habits. Have fun and run them they'll get better and by this hunting season they should be ready to go.

do like BOOMHOWER said seperate them if you run them all at one time they will want to play insted of hunt and if the 1 1/2 year old is running the pups will start to cut corners and develope tons of problems because they are trying to keep up with the older dog.

hope this helps and good luck with them all!
