starting pups

Post by Black Rock Kennels »

I have a pair of litter mates that are 6 months old one has been on fire since about 4 1/2 months. the other just seems to run along he does go in the briars and everything just seems to be hanging out with the other never has opened up or anything I run these 2 pups religously about 3 to 4 days a week since I brought them home at 8 weeks. I've tried taking him by himself but just seems to be looking for the other pup the whole time. Just don't want him to end up as one of them dogs that a relying on everyone else. I know they are still young just wondering if anyone had any advise

let him chase a tame rabbit or try and get him to sight chase a wild one. that might help things along. I wouldn't give up just yet.

Give him time. The last two littermates I started one was nine mos. old the other 10 mos. old before they opened on their first rabbit but have been going stong ever since. Patience.
