I have two 9 month old litter mate females that are kenneled together. Have no problems out of them whatsoever. Even at feeding time they are very well mannared.
When i get them out and let them run, or just get some exercise when it comes time to put them back up, i put them on a leash with 2 leads to take them back to their kennel, and the last couple of times they have fought like they were mortal enemies. After todays episode,both of their mouths and ears were bloody as could be. Why do they do this? Should i leave the shock collars on them an light them up?

ive had dogs fight before trying to get them out of the field coupled. its hard to explain but its like they thought it was the other dogs fault they couldnt get away..lol

If you leave the shock collar on them & give them a shock for fighting, it will make the next fight that much worse. I wouldn't be surprised if one dog was killed, even ...

Applying shock correction to any aggressive action makes it worse. You may want to just make the extra trip or leash them separately at the very least, then you can short them up, one in each hand.

I have two females kenneled together but not for long, they are littermates, hunt and run well together but they get jealous and want to fight each other when putting them back in the pen, not as often as it used to be but as soon as I get the new part of kennel done, they will be separate.

i have 2 males father n son that are bitter enemies had to put a dog between them in my above grouind kennell had them out other day running them together heard the damnest fight thought a coyote had came in on them the 2 males got into a fight while on a check one is only a 9 month old pup but he is a pure aligator i got another littermate male that dont try to fight with his dad yet i cant haul them together either any suggestions how to put a stop to this i hate to get rid of either dog they are baddddd jb

maybe thats true of some dogs- if they couldnt be trained not to fight ,i wouldnt feed them - life is too short


my experience has been

many young males need to be taught some manners -

you have to forget about being politically correct -- in the olden days , my ancestors would stomp a mudhole in there back for any attempt to fight -- get on them fast and hard--- if thats done today ,,its with no witnesses -


if you use a shock collar to break them of this ----you need to be a mind reader-- after they are locked together fighting tooth and nail---its too late --


set them up where they cant reach each other but are likely to fight


for example , tied close with a bone in the middle , watch them from a distance ..

shock at very first sign of a fight , raised hair , posturing, growling,scratching with hind feet , etc-


if you have a zero tolerance policy right from the start , you can all but eliminate that stuff from most dogs - its a very natural thing for young males to want to fight a little - its your job to teach them its unacceptable talk to em - send them to counciling -- or

use whatever version of the the olden day methods you feel comfortable with---its best not to think about it but just stop it, right now , every time -

Most times I have seen fighting on the leash neither dog had spent enough time on a leash solo. Work then side by side but seperate for awile.

Shock one when they are posturing and thethered together and sure as H... they will think the other did it and fight back........you have only made matters worse.

So, if young dog is ornery, wanting to fight with dad, I wonder where he got the mean streak from. Ornery is genetic.
