The rechargeables will last for a couple days. I have all the roads on mine and the topo stuff, you can only have one or the other on the screen at a time. I leave mine showing the roads because I am on flat ground, this also shows all rivers and creeks. Pretty slick, now if they could make the collars 1/2 the size they are now.

Thanks guys. All i wanted to know was about the topo maps. hopefully over the summer I'll have one. Pretty much sold on buying one. Hopefully i'll run into someone at a trial and see it in action first hand

frank from what i have read when i got mine the manual tells you for better accuracy to Calibrate before each time out, so i have always done this.

i also went to lithium batteries on mine and i get 10X's the life as regular duracell.

I calibrate mine everytime I use it or change battery---I have 2mb micro chip in mine ---I have from COLORADO--to half of MAINE---I don't use the map on BEAGLES as I do for my coon hounds--- for marking the truck and the club house when trailing --with the beagles the map is like a [2] year old boy coloring --don't range like coon hound ---every one I know that has one--- say they would never go back to a beep beep tracker ---

I have the new Garmin with 3 collars, have had trouble with two collars and had to send back, also had trouble with two elec chargers sent them back also, I had to pay postage back they took care of the postage return. and sent me two new collars and chargers. Don't think the collars them selves are going to last on my beagles, going through the briars, already showing some strings being torn out and starting to come apart. transmitters are doing real well, under the pressure .Only been using them four mounths. size ok useing last hole.weight no prblem.
beagle trials are ment to be enjoyed , they should be fair to the best of the honest oppinion

When guys talk about the collar being to big, is it because its too loose or is it because of the excess length after its on?
