Trapping Red Squirrels

Post by Bob Wiest »

I have a couple of red squirrels making a mess in my shed, I've tried using a rat trap baited with peanut butter with no success. I would appreciate any ideas on a better bait. I am hoping the rat trap works, but if anyone has experience in this area I'd appreciate it. Thanks....Bob

Hey Bob do you have a live trap. If so put a busted up walnut in and set it. It shouldn't take long and you will have them. I have caught some squirrels like this before. After you catch do what you want. Bang Bang ;)

A box trap works real well....I have lost count of thr number that I have gotten in my rabbit traps...any bait will work..apples, corn or rabiit pellets. Another thing...take them out of the wood trap farely quickly as the chew them up real bad.
